MOCA 2.0® Components

Following initial certification, our diplomates are encouraged to register for and participate in MOCA 2.0 as the next step in their certification journey. MOCA 2.0 provides an innovative approach to continuous learning. We’ve partnered with our diplomates to design a program that seamlessly integrates into their everyday practice. The web-based platform guides lifelong learning with a personalized interactive assessment tool and access to educational activities to keep medical knowledge up-to-date.

MOCA® Activity Providers

Registering MOCA CME Activities through ACCME®

We are collaborating with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) to expand the number and diversity of accredited CME activities that meet the MOCA CME requirements, including the patient safety CME requirement. Additionally, we are streamlining the MOCA CME processes for greater ease and efficiency for accredited CME organizations and board-certified physicians.

All accredited CME providers in the ACCME system already use the ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) to enter data about each of their CME activities. CME providers that choose to participate will use PARS to attest to their activities’ compliance with MOCA requirements. When physicians complete activities, CME providers will report learner completion through PARS to us.

Applications for MOCA® Activities

Medical societies and other healthcare organizations that offer quality educational activities to enable physicians to fulfill MOCA requirements may submit a proposal for their educational activities to be considered for approval. We review applications on a first-come, first-served basis. The review and approval process may take up to 10 weeks. During this time, we may request additional information. Once a final decision is reached, we will notify the sponsor. If an activity application is approved, the sponsor will be required to sign a written agreement that specifies the terms of the arrangement. The sponsor is responsible for the development and administration costs of the activity and must submit a final report to us of diplomates’ activity completion.
